If it were me making a new account and I had just hit level 80, there are three places I would immediately think to go: Silverwastes for profit. Fractals for ascended items, especially early trinkets. WvW just because I love the game mode. I imagine you've done all the personal story and dungeons on your way up to 80, but in case you don't know Personally, I would do weapons first. Assuming you have the expansions. Each elite class has an ascended weapon collection associated with it, and in the grand scheme of things in Guild Wars 2, you can complete them in a day or two if you focus on them. Just make sure you have a stat line picked out. Leveling right now is so painful. I honestly got super excited to play the machinist new job that came out with this expansion and I came back and made a character and wanted to level it to like EXPERIENCE the game. Now I learned it's at level 80. The build works fairly easy. Most things just activate passive while you play. Just be sure, to dodge regularly, you'll get a lot of protection and extra dmg, if you keep up your resolution buff. Regular swapping between the legends is also highly recommended (basically on CD). 1) If you but Heart of Thorns or Path of Fire you'll get a level 80 boost included as part of the purchase. It's in the standard edition so you don't need to pay extra for the Deluxe or Ultimate, and if you buy both expansions you'll get 2 boosts. 2) You can buy the boost from the gem store for 2,000 gems. But as VeeSlays already stated, I would recommend to NOT use it on your first character, because the leveling process is kind of an extended tutorial and unlocking the mechanics step by step helps you to learn all these systems without getting overwhelmed. Guild Wars 2 is not World of Warcraft. The game doesn't start at 80. The game doesn't start at 80. I was stuck in a dungeon run the other day with someone who had bought the game, learned that the fastest way to grind levels was Edge of the Mists, done that, and then started running dungeons. They don't want to swap the gear from toons. They want to use the boost on the Level 74 toon to get full exotic celestial on ele. Celestial gear can be damn expensive for a new level 80. If you can throw in $10 gems to gold you could deck yourself out and boost another class. It's not a huge waste though to boost the 74. .
